Janet Maslin's review of the book for The New York Times mixed mild criticisms with praise. Maslin wrote that Isaacson's biography presented "an encyclopedic survey look up to all that Mr. Jobs accomplished, full to bursting with the passion and excitement renounce it deserves."[13]
